A romantic Lincolnshire wedding full of promise and choice
Each time I have driven past Goltho Gardens I’ve often been curious as to what it offers. This beautiful place has recently opened it’s unique brick built barn and stunning gardens as a fantastic wedding venue. And back in early Autumn, I had the greatest opportunity to be involved in their very first styled shoot. The choice of Season {late Summer, early Autumn}, the stunning grounds & barn and the incredible styling of this shoot shouted out for natural photographs. And working with a real couple made it so much easier to capture true emotions and real love. True moments that reflect the romance here so well.
Goltho Gardens is an absolute treat for any photographer to shoot in. Both indoors and out. We were totally spoilt for choice of different areas to use as a backdrop – photographers, and couples, are going to absolutely love it! And working in collaboration with such talented suppliers makes a real difference. Every local supplier listened to the other and bounced off their ideas, creating something wonderful. As can be seen in these beautiful photographs. This Styled Shoot has so much to offer, that I’ve broken it down into two parts. Here is Part I where we explore the 16th Century brick built barn…

A beautiful hidden gem
Goltho Gardens beautiful 16th Century brick built barn has been restored in such a way that it creates a romatic backdrop to any style of wedding. To me, it screams for a relaxed, simple but beautiful ceremony. Followed by a banquet style feast where the couple can be at the heart of their day. At one side of the barn are high ceilings with original brickwork. And the other side consists of two stories offering a more cosier space with exposed brickwork and gorgeous wooden beams. Quite easily a couple can spend their wedding day in just this barn – but Goltho Gardens offers so much more!
On this particular Styled Shoot, Jess {from Love In The Limelight} and Julie {from Julip Freelance Florestry} both worked together to create and enhance the spaces on offer within the barn. Upstairs, they prepared an area for a Candle Unity Ceremony to ‘take place’ by Celebrant Leni from Unique to You Celebrancy. Using styled items, candles and lace textured materials that incresed the romantic, intimate atmosphere. Softened with simple touches of foliage. Whilst downstairs in the taller section of the barn they created a banquet styled area ready for a perfect wedding celebration feast. Full of deep colour and texture, Jess & Julie created a large sweeping arch to break up the expanse of brickwork, and to regain focus on the ‘newly married’ couple.

Dancing in the light
In the lower section of the barn is a gorgeous alternative area for a more formal wedding breakfast. Fitted with a rustic bar, the cosier space is perfect for the latter part of the day. With large glass windows flooding the area with natural light, lower ceilings with exposed beams, this area is ideal for dancing the night away. The gorgeous cake featured here is by Celebration Cakes by Carol and works perfectly with the rustic styling. In this area, Jess and Julie worked their magic with a simple backdrop of rustic, industrial style ‘Love Lights’. Again, softened with candles and foliage. Bringing every area together in style.

This stunning venue is the perfect setting for a romantic Lincolnshire wedding, especially with styling like this! Below I’ve listed the incredibly creative suppliers who took part. To hear more from these amazing folk, Wedding Day Angel – online blog & wedding supplier directory – also covered this Styled Shoot in their blog too. Have a nosey here. When I look back at how much work went into this shoot, I can’t believe we achieved it all in one day! Especially as we spent alot of time outdoors in the gardens too. Which I will fully showcase soon in Part II.
